Effective political leadership is essential to facilitate successful attainment of public goals. The focal\r\npoint of this paper is to assess the leadership role of political office-holders towards achieving the aims\r\nand objectives of local government vis-� -vis prospects and challenges. It reviews the conceptual issues\r\nrelated to leadership with reference to Nigerian Local Government; and examines the contemporary\r\ntheories justifying the existence and need for local government. This study aims at figuring out the lacuna existing between Indian University standards and industrial standards in biosciences industry, which leads to lack of employment in biosciences industry for the students in Tamilnadu and finding the maximum possible solutions for the same. Also, this study investigates the ways to enrich the employability skills of Biosciences industry in Tamilnadu from HR perception. This study adopted survey research method using questionnaire to describe the graduate�s perceptions of the importance of the employability skills needed for the workforce, to identify the contributions of on campus, off campus, and academic programs in enhancing graduates� employability skills, to assess supervisor�s perceptions of the importance of the employability skills needed by graduates to be successful in the workforce, to prioritize the employability skills, according to supervisor�s, in need of curriculum enhancement using the Borich needs assessment mode. The current problem facing Performance Contracting (PC) in Kenyan public enterprises has been\r\nattributed to the failure of organizations to cascade the concept to individual employee level,\r\nleading to a discrepancy between the results of PC and the reality on the ground. The purpose of\r\nthis study was to examine the effect of performance target setting in performance contracting on\r\nKenyan Public Enterprises Employees Performance. The study used the descriptive survey design\r\nto collect the views and opinions of respondents working in KENGEN (Okaria) in Naivasha. The\r\ntarget population was 600 in which 235 respondents was the sample for the study. Presentation of\r\ndata used descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages and inferential statistics used\r\nwere using Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression technique. Particularly, the\r\ncorrelation analysis was undertaken to test the hypotheses of the study. The findings established\r\nthat there was a strong positive correlation between performance target setting and employee\r\nperformance. The null hypothesis that there is no correlation between performance target setting\r\nand employee performance was rejected. The study concluded that performance contracting had a\r\nstrong positive effect on employee performance in public enterprises in Kenya and thus need to\r\nensure performance target setting is well organized and planned. The study examined the impact of moderating effects of organizational culture on HRM and employee�s\r\nperformance in an attempt to contribute to the pool of knowledge and practice. Researchers and\r\nauthors have suggested that culture is a stable and critical phenomenon. Sun (2008) and Brown (1995)\r\nargued that, there are organizations that are relatively stable, with stable environment; but risk-taking\r\nand innovation are not necessarily successful there. This implies difficulties in organizational culture\r\ntransformation. The study contrarily viewed cultural transformation as a means of improving\r\norganization. This is empirically proven through quantitative and qualitative approach in nongovernmental\r\norganization in Nigeria. The study also presents a framework for the alignment of\r\norganizational culture and human resource management to better understand the organizational\r\nknowledge-related performance. The study finding suggested certain factors influence the moderating\r\neffects of organizational culture; they have positive influence on increasing employee�s performance\r\nand human resource management. Unlike in the past, a critical success factor for organizations in this 21st century in achieving and\r\nsustaining a competitive advantage is by combating the challenge of improving quality and service\r\ndelivery. This study using the ex-post facto design critically analyzed the role of selection interview and\r\nselection test on employee�s performance. One hundred and ninety (190) (males = 96 {50.5%}; females =\r\n94 {49.5%}) participants whose age ranged between 20 and 55, were involved in this study. Three\r\nhypotheses were tested using the t-test and ANOVA, the findings showed that female university\r\nemployee unlike males favourably perceived the link between selection interview, selection test and\r\nemployee performance t (188) = 3.86, p<.05. The result also revealed that university employees who are\r\nsingles, more than the married, reported more favourable perception of the link between selection\r\ninterview, selection test and employee performance t (188) = 6.43, p<.05. It also showed that university\r\nemployees in the age range of 20-25 years reported the highest mean score on perception of the link\r\nbetween selection interview, selection test and employee performance. Therefore, selection interview\r\nand selection test are good predictors of employee performance, if conducted in a standardized form....
Past research in information technology (IT) governance has shown that strong IT governance\r\nresults in improved business performance. Despite widespread acceptance that IT governance is\r\nimportant, there are limited studies focusing on IT practitioners in IT governance initiatives. This\r\nstudy aims to examine the extent of commitment, awareness, perceived importance and\r\ncompetency in influencing IT practitioners� participation in IT governance initiatives. Data analysis\r\nusing Partial Least Squares reveals that awareness, perceived importance and competency have\r\npositive influence on participation in IT governance. However, commitment is not a significant\r\npredictor of participation in IT governance.
